About Only Fair Trade
Only Fair Trade is the result of my personal challenge to buy more Fairtrade products for my own use that came about in the early part of January 2006. Like many of you, I understood the main principles of the Fairtrade Foundation, that if more people like you and I can buy more Fairtrade products then we will make a positive impact to the lives and communities of millions of fellow human beings in developing countries around the world.
Having discovered that there were over 1000 products (at 01/2006) carrying the Fairtrade mark, I then began to ask -
- Why, living on the outskirts of a major UK city (Leeds) was I not able to have an easy and simple way to buy more of these Fairtrade products ?
- How many other people across the UK would like to buy more Fairtrade products and were in a similar situation to me?
- How could I utilise over fifteen years of small order, UK and worldwide distribution experience to find a solution to this situation?
From this scenario, and in less than eight weeks, Only Fair Trade was set up with the help of a variety of very professional friends and associates. The plan over time is to increase the number of Fairtrade products stocked and be able to offer you (and me) the widest possible choice online.
